Today I found out that my post "Density of light" was featured on IFB's weekly links à la mode, as you probably guess happiness followed, especially because I am somewhat new to the network. Below I share with you the other blogs that were included in the weekly round up.

So what do I mean, exactly, by Pinky & The Brain? Well, this week’s round up is a mix of fun and colorful posts that literally incorproate a lot of pink, as well as smart and insightful commentary on the industry and some recent designer collections. This collection of posts sums up much of what the essence of what our IFB community is all about – mixing beauty and stylish content with an intellingent and businesss-minded approach.

Density of light

This post was waiting to be published for so long that now I have really big selection of photos and no text to go with it. I guess that is the problem when you want to emphasize the work of an artist through photos, in this case the work of Gabriel Dawe, the choise of words has to be perfect as well as the editing part.
This older post about the artist that I found on It's nice that, presents the artist so well that I'm not even going to try and write another word on the subject:
"Through the materials he uses, the artist returns to his childhood frustration at his Mexican heritage, the threads, and more specifically embroidery, symbolising the purported machismo mentality, the cultural roles of the genders, and a “complicated network between ideas and people.”

The collections that can be related to Dawe's art are Christopher Kane S/S RTW 2012 and Resort 2012

C. Kane S/S 2012 -

C. Kane Resort 2012 -

And for the end of this visually heavy post, one look from his S/S 2013 collection -

Note: the title of the post "Density of light" is originally the name of Gabriel Dawe's exhibition at the gallery Lot 10.

Manipulation of plastics

I came across the up-coming London designer Kitty Joseph via Kim Howells's blog. Her work as a stylist is always eye-engaging and she has worked with all some of the most known magazines, musicians, designers and other creatives. I was introduced to her work by Fred Butler - I wish it was in person, but it was on her blog.
So why Kitty? First of all her name is Kitty :)!
Then come the clothes, they are graphic and bold, I love the use of materials, which seems very experimental and up-to-date. I wish that new talents were recognized more for their work, since these days what seems to be popular and trendy (I really dislike the word but it is what it is) is exactly what Kitty does. As Kim Howells says "Kitty's acute eye for detail, confidence with colour and appreciation of weird and wonderful fabrics, such as neoprene, mesh. lycra and perspex make her one of the most exciting newcomers in London".
Take a look at her latest collections:
S/S 2013 -

A/W 2012 -

S/S 2012 -

You can find some of her unique Perspex accessories on Bengt.
What do you think, is it wearable or not?

Don't Sweat The Technique

With my latest crazy-after-christmas-shopping I got this Meadham Kirchhoff  x Amazon UK 'Mother may I' sweater:

The scribblings are just enough glittery (you have to really look up close to see it), the fit is great and the most important thing, you can go in it in public.
So I finally decided to update my blog with some wearable sweatshirts.
Take a look:
1. Ashish

2. Brian Lichtenberg at Browns
3. Christopher Kane, also at Browns
4. Mulberry at Net-a-porter

5. The classic Rodarte for OC:
If only they were paying me to do this.
Next purchase on the list is no.2!
